Hello neuro-diverse and neuro-typical world!

I’m happy to be here! Neuro-diverse is the kind of brain I have. If you’re not autistic then you have a neuro-typical brain type. Don’t worry, being typical isn’t a bad thing. It just means that you can’t do some of the things that I can do. But being neuro-diverse means that I can’t do some of the things that you can do. And that’s okay too.

If we were to somehow make a change to the entire universe and how it unfolded, we could have had a world that was designed by neuro-diverse people. If that were the case, then everyone that was neuro-typical would struggle in our world. It might also mean that we would initially have labelled those people with a disability, like autistic people have been, instead of just a different type of brain that processes differently. And of course, we would have had the labels completely reversed. The autistic brains that designed the world, would be called neuro-typical and the other types would be called neuro-diverse. This is just an interesting thought process, that I came up with on the spot while writing this. This is an example of ADHD, which I also have.

It’s also mostly just a thought process to show what the current situation is for all of us. We autistic people are living in a world and society that are mostly designed and run by the neuro-typical minds. We struggle with some things that are quite simple for most people. But those same things can be anywhere from mild nuisances to completely debilitating environments for anyone who has autism.

Through this blog I will go through a lot of things. This will likely be a large brain dump of things that I’ve discovered, thought about, thinking about, struggling with, wondering about, imagining, and nearly anything else. There will be a form of organization to it. It might be organization that makes more sense to someone like me with autism, but it will have a purpose and goal; to help anyone understand autism more. My general goal is that it is for the following scenarios; The person that is just discovering their own autism, The person trying to understand autism from the outside, The autistic person that needs a place to point their neuro-typical friends to, as a way to help them understand a little more about some aspect of autism that is hopefully explained here in a manner that both types of people can understand.

It will also contain my insights into ADHD as well, since I have also been diagnosed with that. So let’s look into all the many things of Autism and ADHD. By the way, I will occasionally use AI to assist me in my articles. None of these articles will be written by AI, but I might use it to make things clearer as I do often struggle with communication. This particular posting was completely written by myself. If you are curious, and for full disclosure, I will categorize any articles that I use AI in with the category of “AI Assisted.”
